Is 40lbs Really 40lbs? The Truth About Speediance Weight Calibration
A direct side-by-side feel test suggests Speediance's 40 lb setting tracks closer to dumbbell reality, while Tonal's 40 lb can feel dramatically heavier due to calibration differences.

The Speediance seems a little closer actually, which might make sense because their original range was 0 to 220 and that's actually their 0 to 220 is actually Tonal's 0 to 200.
I would imagine they're similar-ish weights. So their weight is actually closer to what 40 lb would feel like with a dumbbell, right? If you're bicep curling, that 40 lbs is similar-ish to a 40 lb dumbbell.
But Tonal's 40 lb felt like 60 lb. It felt super heavy.
