Description
If you're trying to choose a digital home gym in 2026, here's the blunt answer: most people still shouldn't overthink this. In this video I break down the Speediance Gym Monster 2S, Voltra, AEKE S1 Pro, Fit Transformer Titan, Tonal, and why I'm not interested in analog cable towers with digital gimm

Hello and welcome back to Toby on Fitness Tech. It's been quite a while. So, a lot's happened. Uh uh I stopped doing the live streams just for right now cuz I'm resetting everything up. So, as I get everything set back up and figure out what my final uh setup's going to look like, uh the live streams are just pretty difficult to do with, you know, switching out computers and everything like that that's powering my AI. Still working on all that AI stuff, but this time I figured I'd get back to kind of the meat and potatoes stuff cuz someone asked me a question and I'd actually done a whole bunch of research on it ironically already. So, and it's around different devices that are out there. I figured we'd just call them cover all of them, right? And um and I do have the expertise to to answer this question, although I don't have all of these devices, right? Full disclosure, I buy all these devices myself. So, it's not you're not going to get from me, you know, uh like I do a lot of research on the devices I don't own because I do want to see if something better's coming to the market and something that's substantially better that would replace the 2S someday. And I'm sure that will happen. Like there will be a replacement for the 2S. Uh but unfortunately, this round of devices is not that. However, this user was asking about a couple of the other devices that I've mentioned in previous videos, but I might as well go through them all now. So, I figured I would just uh bring up the comment and read it and then um kind of kind of walk through um you know, my thoughts on the individual things. So, let me bring it up. So, this person's asking about a whole bunch of different devices, but the devices in particular are the AK S1 Pro, which is coming out soon, uh the Fit Transformer Titan, which I answered in one video, and the Volture, which I answered in a different video, but I didn't do with them together. And I think it matters to do all of these together. And they also asked about the Viper cable tower. Oh, um, and I'll I'll be honest, the Viper cable tower cable cable tower and any of those rack mount systems that are not digital in some way, I'm just flat out not interested in. Like those are an analog system with a digital interface. And in fact, I just came back from the Arnold uh Classic and there was one of the big name brands that had something similar that has digital readouts on their analog system. And I'm just not interested in them as a concept. Like I'm interested in uh digital fitness machines. Now, the Fit Transformer Pro of all of these is a really unusual machine. So, it's not like the rest. And I actually see a use case for it. And that's the problem, the Voltra's. Not only do I see a use case for, I actually believe that there's a whole bunch of people out there that should buy the Voltra's instead of this, right? And in fact, I was 50/50 on that, on buying this or the Voltra. Now, I'm glad I bought the Speediance and I'll show you why. But realize that uh I was 50/50. And that's coming from someone who had the Tonal before and liked digital platforms, purely digital platforms, but I could afford putting racks, especially cuz I had to redo this wall anyways, cuz the Tonal was there. So, I had to redo the wall behind here. Um So, that wall is completely redone. Um and so, you know, I could have easily put a rack on that wall, then put a rack downstairs, bought two Voltra's, and uh go on that route. And that would have provided me more resistance, more ability to grow in terms of like pure absolute ability to lift heavy, you know? And having a rack mounted to the wall is actually a more secure platform. There was one person that I had to burst their bubble. They wanted to put a back plate right here. I don't think they have ever lifted, not to be mean, but I don't think they've ever lifted heavy in their life. Because they wanted to put a back plate right here. And what they wanted to be able to do is come up against the machine, so you put the back plate one I'm too tall. So, whoever it is is like 5-ft something. Cuz they had the plate down here, and you can see with me the plate would be up at R1. But let's just assume that this would even work because it doesn't work because my plate would have to be at R1, which is like right behind, but you know what I mean? Assuming it would work, like you can tilt the screen and you're down at R2 R3 with your back, right? And you have a back mount that kind of comes out. And it for me, I guess you could do it down here, but you'd have to come way out and then way up. But what they're talking about doing is for all these flies where there's a big problem with this machine, um and it's not fixable, and that's why I wanted to talk about the Aky S1 because I don't think the Aky fixes it, and I'll I'll explain that in a second. But I'm inner like I am interested to see one of those in person. And I have a feeling I never will because I don't I don't think they sell very well, to be honest with you. I don't think these devices have the kind of reach that the Speediance has or um a buddy of mine has one of the other devices that's uh that they make a professional model for NFL players, and I can't remember the name of it, but there's another one out there that's really popular that a lot of people buy. It also requires professional installation. It also has a paid membership. So, that's why it's not in this person's list, right? He clearly listed everything that's possible that doesn't have a paid membership. So, that one has a paid membership like the tone what slightly less money, but that's here nor there. But, it's just a very different device. It's a heavy lifting device in the version that's made for the NFL players is amazing. You know, I wish they made a consumer version that had the kind of weight like the pro model that they build is like unbelievable amounts of weight, but it's a totally different design and it wouldn't I well, I can make it fit in my office, but like it's it's not practical for my office. Um but yes, getting back to it. They had built this thing and it would come here and I'll show you what a fly actually looks like on here. So, let me go into free lift real quick to show you um why this is such a bad idea. So, if I go to do a fly um I'll try it with 35 lb just so that you can see. So, I'm going to have my back to the machine and do a fly. Turn on the weight. Right. And then I'm going to pull out. Right? So, my feet are actually staggered. One right at the plate of the thing and one up further. And when I'm pulling, I'm pulling out. Right? If my back was actually up against it, I would be resting my weight up against the machine and trying to pull out. I'd be able to pull with more force, but I'm actually pushing back into the machine. And uh that user whenever I said, "Hey, this is a really bad idea. Like, don't do that." They showed me one of the commercial machines and I just love that I've actually had the experience of with one of those commercial machines where you can pull out from the machine. Um I was doing something where the plate of the machine is back too close to the machine and the weights are stacked behind you. So, the weight on this machine stacked behind me and just imagine like it had even more weight cuz it had all the weight plates behind me and I was trying to show off and pull the maximum amount of weight possible. Well, it was at a hotel gym and they didn't have it bolted to the ground. So, those machines are supposed to be bolted down. That's the other thing that I had to tell the user. He sends that over and I'm like, "Yeah, that machine's supposed to be bolted to the ground." I can tell you I've never moved one. So, what happened is I went to pull this way and obviously I pushed back really hard cuz I couldn't move the weights very much. So, I'm going to move the weights and I'm pushing back and I almost flipped the machine backward. And it's supposed to be bolted down and I look down and they don't have any of the bolts in. And I'm like, "Well, that's a good reason for you know, that's a a serious danger issue. But, yeah, it's not too terrible to be able to do this, but just imagine you know, you're you're resting up against the machine, you're pushing back against the machine as you're coming out. You're It's a recipe for danger. And why I say that is because the Auki S1 Pro is like the Speediance where it has the cable arms and I do much prefer that design to this design. But, I just think it's really expensive. So, I'm going to be really shocked to see how they can afford to manufacture that thing. And also one user online was saying, "Oh, it has a higher resistance." No, it does not. It does not have a higher resistance nor it doesn't even have the resistance of this machine. So, this machine's the two asset. It goes up to 260 lb, right? 130 per side, which is 260 lb. The Auki S, you know, the S1 Pro is not 260 lb. I think it's 200. It was either 200 or 220. I'm pretty sure it's 200. But, um it's basically the original machine's weight, you know, the original Speediance or the original Tonal's weight. The It doesn't have the weight bump of the Tonal 2 or the Speediance 2S, right? Which is disappointing to build a new machine in 2026 and not have the weight capabilities of one of these new machines. Let me turn on the lights. It's starting to get dark here. So, yeah, it's just It's disappointing to see one of these new machines come out and not have uh not have the weight resistance cuz it would It wouldn't be enough for me to justify an upgrade, but it would be a compelling device. If it If If it matched especially because that system where you have the arms up above you, um I guess I'll go back into free lift and show you one other thing that really the arms just simply make better. So, if I go into free lift and first of all, I'm not going to try that at full weight, but if I go into free lift and go to do a lat pull down, right? One of the things that really makes that awesome is those arms are way up there. So, you see how if I go to do a lat pull down even with it up at the top setting, if I have my butt in the air, I'm only You see my elbows. So, let me make sure that Yeah, you can see everything on screen. So, you see my elbows, they're not I'm not locked out. I'm not here, I'm here, right? For me to get a locked out position, I have to come down and go like this to get that full stretch, and that's what I want. And that's why I rail against safety start because people use safety start. They start here, they go down, then they turn on safety start. So, they're starting like with it, you know, halfway down. They're not going to a full stretch and then coming down. So, that's what I was getting at with that. So, with the AKS 1 Pro, there's a benefit to having those arms. You get a longer reach. There's a lot of there isn't more movements that you can do, but there's a better feel to some movements. Um now, there's also a worse feel to some movements, which is even weirder, right? You'd think, "Oh, well, every movement's going to feel better." No, no, no. Things from the ground when you have arms do not feel better. They feel worse. Ironically, everyone loves to talk about the angle adaptors that I don't think are relevant for most Well, they're not relevant for most of the lifts that I do. They go on the sides of this machine and they protect it from cable wear, but they only protect it from cable wear when the cables are going into the machine, right? But, the reason why I'm showing you this is this is a position where, quite frankly, this system feels better than the Tonal system. So, the Tonal, what you have is you have plastic arms that extend down to the ground and sit in about the same position, right? And it doesn't sound like it would be a difference, but with this machine, you're pulling up against your own weight. So, your own weight's underneath you because you're on a platform and you're pulling up against the weight and also the cables are pulling straight. So, this cable, as I'm pulling, is coming out like straight up, right? Whereas, with that arm, it's kind of coming out at an angle, no matter what you do, at least on the Tonal. And it just it's a different feel. It's not enough that you're going to choose one device over the other because of the different feels of like moving around, but I actually prefer this design for straight up and down movements, for like bicep curls. So, I know it sounds weird, but for bicep curls where you're standing especially, where I'm in front of the machine and I'm going like this, this just feels better than having those plastic arms out there. Um and I can't explain it very well, but it is a different feeling and this is a better feeling in my opinion, where you're coming from a cable that is actually like tethered in and and and uh coming up this way. So, I did want to say that that you know, it's not that that system is not perfect. So, on on the the Anki the Anki versus the the Anki in general versus the Speediance 2S, I still think the Speediance 2S is a better device for I don't know, over 90% of users. You know, that being said, I've not seen the the UX of the Anki. So, the UX might be far better. And that was another thing that I got into a debate on is someone online said that this machine was well, so someone online was posting that they uh that they specifically wanted this or the Anki. Right? And that's why I'm bringing up the Anki over and over again because they I also was involved in a post where someone had just had the gastric sleeve done. And also, other commenters ignored the massively long like didn't read the whole thing and ignored the real context clues in their question, right? And the context clues in their question led me to answer with don't buy either of them. But I'll explain that in a second. So, this is a person who just had the gastric sleeve done, who's on a GLP-1, and their doctor informed them that they should be lifting. This is a 6'4 after the gastric sleeve after like the final weight um they're 260 lb, right? Which at 6'4 is a like that's that's what you should be, you know? Um in my opinion. Like you should be you should be in the 200s and you know what I mean? Unless you're a runner, right? Like I'm I'm 240 lb on 6'0, right? So like that checks out weight-wise. Um but the important thing of this is the person was asking which of these machines and which one's more beginner-friendly. And no one on the Speediance community, by the way, is even going to be able to answer your question on the Anki. Right? Because I don't know the interface well enough. I've seen the interface. It looks fairly clean, but we all know if you've done any kind of research that in terms of interface, if you pay the membership the Tonal is the king of this. It's the king, right? So to ask about two devices that aren't the Tonal when you're a beginner you know, like I felt like it was um A, they were picking not the two best of breed devices. And then they said, "But the context clues in the thing to to answer neither of these and not the Tonal." Right? Um and there is a correct answer and there's only one correct answer for this user. And he didn't like it. And I think he blocked me uh after my second retort of here's why I said that. Right? Here's exactly what was in your message that caused me I don't think people like when I hyper-analyze specifically what's in their message that causes me to tell them what they don't want to hear. Which is by the way, if he buys this device or the Anki, I can tell you he's going to have a really, really nice $4,000 clothes rack. That's what he's going to have. I will I would bet my life savings on it that this guy is going to have a $4,000 clothes rack if he buys this. If other changes aren't made. And here's the way to make those other changes, in my opinion, for him. Because he's never done it in his life. Like that's the other thing that was highlighted in his original message. So, to get the gastric sleeve done, you have to lose 20 or 30 lb ahead of time. Instead of losing those 20 or 30 lb the way they used to traditionally have to do it, with like hard work and determination to get that weight off, uh his doctor immediately put him on a GLP-1 to cause the weight loss to then trigger the ability to get the gastric sleeve to and now keeps him on the GLP-1 to make sure that uh his poor eating habits don't cause him to gain all that weight back. Um and I'm not throwing shade on GLP-1s. I talked about it in one of my videos. I take them, you know, or have taken them, uh especially to lose the weight and then I go off of them for like 6 months and then some of the weight reappears and then I'll go you'll see me go on them and I'll I'll be uh shredded to the bone. If you see me and I'm shredded to the bone, which I'm not right now, right? You can guess, not on a GLP-1 right now. Shredded to the bone, probably on a GLP-1, right? Um because it makes a difference. It's a huge game-changing difference in the amount of calories you take in. And I take in clean food either way, but I can eat 5,000 calories a day. Like my wife went to the grocery store and bought nuts and I'm trying to lose weight and it's like, "What are you doing?" Like that's the most like cashews in particular. Just to let you know, if you want to lose weight and you're like me, uh cashews, uh almonds, any of those things are the worst things to have. So high calorie and I can eat Is it one of those giant BJs or Costco containers? And I can eat the whole thing. Like just imagine having the capability of eating the whole thing. And if you think I'm joking, I could show you on camera. I don't want to because I don't want to get fat again, but there's a reason why I was that fat, right? I can eat and eat and eat and eat. The GLP-1 stops that. So, I'm not criticizing the medication and I'm not even criticizing the person, by the way. Like there's a million reasons why he could have had these problems. And also, I wanted him to answer specifically So, first of all, I think he's in the US, which matters, right? Because then he's dealing with the US healthcare system. And I specific He's He says he has a great doctor. And if he's inside the US healthcare system, only one of two things could could have occurred here. Right? Well, three things. One, he has some kind of unbelievable health insurance that I've never heard of that would somehow cover this. Two, he has some kind of underlying condition, probably type 2 diabetes, that will allow this to be covered and then it was all paid for through his insurance. Three, he cash paid for his doctor, in which case, yes, he's going to be very responsive to taking their uh taking their opinions to heart and moving forward with them. So, if the option was three, I think he would actually have a massively larger chance of success even with one of these devices because he's now cash paying for a doctor and he will cash pay for a device and use that device. I I do think that that's a possibility. But if he's um you know, one or two, like he he's using a doctor through the US healthcare system, his chance of success with either of these devices is not is zero. You know, where he didn't actually pay for all of that in and of himself. He He's going to have a paper weight. Uh in my opinion, you know, and and the other thing the thing I told him to do is a hire a personal trainer. And I meant specifically a personal trainer, not at a big box gym, because that was his big fear. He didn't want to go to a big box gym because it'd be overwhelming. First of all, he's a 6'4 260-lb dude. That man should never ever feel intimidated. You know, so like he needs a serious mental therapy. Like he needs someone like like I've gotten people like that come into the gym and have fear and have nerves, and I immediately stomp that out of them. I mean, I and and I'm nicer to them, by the way. If If you come into the gym and you have a bunch of fear around it because you feel inadequate, I don't destroy you. If you come in there cocky and and you know, want tough rolls, then, you know, as a white belt, that's what you're going to get from me, but uh is I've had a couple people come in that are that size, and all I can tell them is you've got a mountain of opportunity. Like you were blessed with size that I don't have and most people don't have. All we have to do is get you stronger. All we have to do is get you faster. All we have to do is get you better technique. You know what I mean? That So, when I hear that those dimensions, right, 6'4 260 lbs, like those are dream dimensions for someone like me who's a jiu-jitsu player who you know, like that size, I can teach you very quickly, and you should be able to get strong very quickly. Um you know, the doctor specifically recommended the strength training because they lost a whole bunch of bone density uh from you know from the my speculation would be from still following a terrible diet while having get the gastric sleeve in place. The he didn't the doctor didn't fix his issues. So the one thing is like why is he going to listen to the doctor on this? Because I know the doctor gave him nutrition advice. And look, is their nutrition advice perfect? No, I actually have a nutrition video that I had Arya scripted out and and build and I approved all the audio for it, but I don't have the video quite to where I want, so I haven't released it. But it's basically my thoughts. Realize when when you see these like uh videos that are like animatronic those are my thoughts synthesized through Arya, my digital assistant uh on these things. So that's what they actually are, right? And it's my thoughts on nutrition. And I'll kind of highlight the the key points. One, I think it matters what you eat. But not in the way you think, right? Um it matters what you eat because protein is high to satiety. And also doesn't lead to weight gain in and of its in and of itself. And you can get things that are high protein that are relatively low calorie. Right? Because they're they have an absence of fat. Right? Where you get into trouble is high fat high protein, right? So think fatty cuts of steak, right? I but if your if you care about weight gain, not everyone does. So for people trying to gain weight one great strategy is eat high protein high fat foods alongside carbs, right? So eating them together in one sitting will allow you to put in more food quicker. Um if you're trying to gain weight. If you're trying to lose weight, that that's a terrible strategy. You know, cuz that is going to lead to weight gain just because you can eat more in that setting. If you have a whole bunch of different like fats, carbs, uh you know, all that kind of stuff. So, I try to eat uh when I'm on a cut in a manner that's high protein, low fat. Um that tends to be my strategy. Now, I don't think that's the only strategy, nor is it the only winning strategy. I do think calories in, calories out matters most in terms of weight loss, weight gain, but in terms of bone density, the thing this guy's talking about, and overall health in the way you feel, what you eat matters. You know, I try to eat a salad every day or two. I try to I'm now eating vegetables almost every day. And I feel better. Like I feel better with those things. So, just realize that, you know, what you what you eat does matter. Um so, for people who say, "Oh, what I don't eat matters. I can eat donuts." It's like, "Yeah, you can, and you can eat every now and then." I've seen fit people, but also realize fit people, I mean, I don't tend to do it, uh but realize fit people will, especially super fit females, just realize they will performatively eat for you. Meaning they will eat the biggest garbage foods when they're out with you if you're not fit, or even sometimes if you are fit, sometimes they'll do that. And realize it's a performance. That's not how they eat every day. If you ask them what their diet is in general, you'll find that that's not on their diet. Typically, you know, there's rare genetic anomalies, but I know a couple females in particular that were just absolutely shredded. But when they'd go out, they would treat themselves. And that's the way they thought of it. I'm not at home. I'm not meal prepping right now. I'm out with my friends. I'm treating myself, and I'm having fun. You know what I mean? So, it's kind of like a performance thing. Like that's not how they eat, you know? And they don't eat in high volume even then typically, but they will have the foods that you'd be shocked at someone like that eats. Um but yeah, uh back on back on this note, so we have the Anki. Um so, let's talk about the Fit Transformer Titan. Uh because that's the most interesting one. Uh because I did not So, normally with one of these devices that's not as good as the Speediance, I would just say, "App, don't waste your time with the thing." But the Fit Transformer Titan is such a different device. It's not a I could see a set of users who use this uh So, this is free lift mode. If you're using this free lift mode, um so, if I'm going in the free lift mode, right? And I just I just hit up workouts in free free lift mode. So, I turn it on and I do some bicep curls, right? You know, that's that's the way I tend to work out. I'm just in here in free lift mode, right? And I'm doing all my workouts here. Honestly, you know, I got to say, something like the Fit Transformer Titan, if you're a free lift mode person, you may have bought the wrong device by buying the Speediance. Um Y- Y- In In fact, I'll go as far as to say you bought the wrong device. You know, you you flat out bought the If you're doing all of your workouts in free lift mode, uh Now, realize the Fit Transformer Titan didn't wasn't available whenever the original Speediance came out. And I have some concerns around the fact that it's battery based. So, Fit Transformer by Titan a battery and you can swap it between that and the rower, right? So, they built a separate rower and a separate uh kind of cable machine like this. But realize it's not digital. It's digital in that it has a screen, but it's not digital in that it like records your workouts. It has preset like you can go in, like it's not advanced. It's not like this. Right? You can't see all of your historical data. I don't think they have any of that stuff. It's just like set the weights and lift the weights kind of thing, which is what free lift mode is on here. Right? You set the weights and you lift the weights. Uh so that's I think that's a better device, especially if you ever want the ability to take the device outside. So if you I do actually do work out outside. I have a Well, you can't see it, but I can see it. Right? I have a rack outside that I put a tarp over and stuff like that. Um and right now my tarp's off of it cuz we're getting horrendous storms and I have to put my tarp back over. But yeah, I have a rack outside. Uh and and I have, you know, thankfully no one can see my backyard, but there's a there's a whole rack out there and there's weightlifting equipment outside. Um so, you know, I I'm not opposed to working out outside. In fact, you know, just to to go out there and have fun sometimes. Like working out should be fun, right? And and and that was one of the things where that user online you know, my suggestion to them was that personal trainer. And the whole idea is to get a personal trainer at a boutique that will make training fun, right? So that's what they should be looking for. Um they shouldn't be looking for someone to to to kill them and run them through crazy workouts. I mean, I had a set of trainers whenever I was competing. Their goal was to get me ready for the competition. Which you would think would be destroying me, right? Right? Like in terms of like uh lift as heavy as possible, like, you know, do as much like box jumps and stuff like that. Well, they eliminated box jumps from my workout altogether after they seen me attempt one of them because that's a good way to shatter my knees. You know, I'm I've already had reconstructive knee surgery. They're like, "Nope, we're never trying that again." Um and then they had me doing split squats with almost no weight, that kind of stuff. They had me doing a whole bunch of stuff that was just outside my comfort zone. But the reason for that was because I would come to them so beat up because I'd actually do jiu-jitsu then show up to train with them. So, I would do two-a-day jiu-jitsu in the lead-up to a tournament and then I and then they would get me all ready after It's actually three training sessions in one day cuz I do jiu-jitsu in the morning, then I'd work, then I'd go for a run over lunch, then I go back to work, then I go to jiu-jitsu at night for an hour, then I'd come into them after that hour of jiu-jitsu. So, I've already had a long day. It's late in my day. I'm tired, right? Uh like it's the least optimal training time, but they use that to to build a recovery workout most of the time. Uh and that that was kind of the strategy for me. But that that requires having a personal trainer. Like the Speediance can't do that for you. You know, I've built my workouts in a way that the Speediance can at least notify me. So, if I go in here, I'm still using that same workout cadence, and I have to. That's for sure. So, that workout cadence is if I go into one of my custom workouts and I go to say, this is actually my favorite one. I built it uh during that one lunar challenge. So, this is the arms barbell workout. So, this first workout is set up at um Of course, you can't see it on the screen anymore. So, if I go to what is it, move analysis? Stats. New. Uh move playlist. Okay, it's in the move playlist, sorry. So, I'm set to 20 RM with 13 reps. So, these are warm-up sets, right? So, this is their and I'm using all of their dynamic weight modes still. So, that was the idea for my training. And once I get done with these warm-ups, I'll know whether or not I can actually do a training session based on how I perform in the warm-ups. So, I'm still using a similar-ish cadence, but the beauty of having a personal trainer is they can just look at you and tell whether you can do these or not, you know, and adjust the weights accordingly. Uh that's not something that this machine can do, right? And even the the rolling out soon, and I actually don't like the feature, hated it on Tonal, going to hate it on here. I'm sure they're not going to do a better job than Tonal, you know, not to be mean, but they're not going to do a better job with the feature. So, they are rolling out you take your camera, you put it up and you record yourself working out, and it analyzes it and tells you and gives you form feedback. Uh so, Tonal had it, it was garbage, it was useless, it took a bunch of time configuring your camera, getting everything set up, took longer to set up my camera so that the Tonal could record me than to record one of these YouTube videos. So, it's like this takes an enormous amount of time to get everything set up and get the right angles. You have to move the camera between workouts, it between different like, you know, different different lifts. It's just a giant garbage approach. I'm just going to be honest with you. And I also, by the way, I also tried Tempo. So, we didn't even talk about it in the list of things to not buy, which I'm glad that user online didn't mention the Tempo at least because holy cow, was that garbage. That is the worst thing I've ever attempted to use. Uh it got my body fat percentage at over 20% when I was shredded, when I had like full six-pack, full everything, and it's like you're 20%. It's like there's no way I'm 20%. I've never been this shredded in my life, you know? Uh so, I was real mad about that and then I went to use it and it wasn't counting my reps correctly. It was just like, man oh man is this thing awful. So, um yeah, so that was that was that situation. I really did not like that. So, I'm going to do this real quick. So, the barbell's unbalanced. Ready? What the heck is it doing? Well, that's new. Let's turn it off and turn it back on again. End There we go. Now it's back to the weight it should be at. Turn it on. Yeah, that was a weird glitch. I've noticed since this firmware update so many different glitches, to be honest with you. I got a firmware update and I'm in communication with Speidans and they've kind of ghosted me because I told them no, fix your firmware because it does all kinds of stuff like you just saw. Like you literally just saw it on the video where it told me the barbell's unbalanced and then reset the weights to something unbelievably small. Like I'm having and it's only this machine, too. The downstairs machine that doesn't have that garbage firmware um doesn't have these problems. And the the UX being all off, I I can't believe they released the 3.x software with with all these bugs. It was, you know what I mean? It's still kind of shocking to me. I guess there is a V3.2 coming out now and we'll see how that performs. I mean, maybe they fixed all this stuff up. You know, who knows, but uh the the V3 software and that new firmware, I honestly think is kind of a black eye on them from a you know, it's not the first time they put out buggy software, but it's the first time where I've seen like massive massive dev effort to create the buggy software. You know, it's it's pretty buggy. Um but yeah, that's so the Fit Transformer in general, I I do see the I see the value in it, especially in having a separate rower. Like having a separate rower, I think is a better design than this, especially cuz you're wearing out your base machine to try to do rowing. And I just don't think that that's But also, the Fit Transformer has a battery. How long's that battery going to last? You know, I saw one review. I did look at reviews of the Fit Transformer, and they're all bought and paid for. So, you can't get a real review of the device either. Right? Because the people reviewing it weren't just given the device for free, they're flat out being paid by the company to do the review. You know, and that's By the way, that's true of Tonal reviews, too. Not of all of them. The Garage Gym Review review is um not bought and paid for. However, realize that Coop from Garage Gym Review not only got the device for free, has the membership permanently for free. So, anyone who they give those review units to get the free device and the free membership. So, Coop's never seen what happens if you turn off the membership, and if he ever did, he would write the most negative review ever, I'm sure. But he can't. He actually can't turn off the membership on that device. It's permanently locked on, the same way uh Paul Sklar's was, when he like flat out misspoke, is the way I'll say it, about what happens when you turn off the membership. He's like, "Oh yeah, you still have access to everything." It's like, dude, you don't have anything. You don't have You don't even have as much as you have in free lift mode on the Speediance if you turn off that membership. That's right. It's free lift mode in Speediance has more features than the machine that, you know, you paid almost double for. It's just crazy to me that Paul would not realize that, you know. And and I get that he can't turn off the membership, so why would he realize it? But, uh you know, that was one where it's like, "You got to be kidding me." Uh but yeah, I do think the Fit Transformer could be useful for anyone who uses free lift and wants the ability to go outside. It's a very niche set of people, but if you're if you're thinking about that and you're on the fence, like you're only ever going to use free lift, you're going to track your workouts outside of the device, so you're going to track them in some other app, uh and you want the ability to go outside, I would look at that Fit Transformer Pro, you know? But, I'm not going to. Now, let's talk about the device that not only was I excited about, I was so excited I almost bought it, you know? It was It was literally a 50/50 between this and that. And honestly, I think to be honest with you, if if you're a hardcore lifter, right? Or someone who loves tech and loves lifting, right? The Volt is is the And by the way, Speediance is actually creating a competitor to the Volt, so you might just want to wait and buy the Speediance Minis depending on the price. So, Speediance is actually launching a competitor to the Volt because they're that great of a device. Like, if Speediance is building your, you know, is cloning your device, like Speediance only clones best best of And let's be clear, every Speediance device is a clone. Like, I don't, you know, I'm not going to say it nicely. They are clones of other people's device. This is the first clone of the tonal. That is what it is. So much so that tonal sued them and then realized they were suing the Chinese government in a way. And by the way, just to let you know, every tonal is made by Foxconn who's owned by the Chinese government. How bad of an Oh, and they owe Foxconn money. At the time they owed them money, they weren't they were late on payments. That's a bad idea to sue your competitor who might have connections with the people who make your device and you owe them money. Like, can you imagine owing them money? You know, so yeah, they they almost were That's That's one of my favorite arguments I got into like a year ago. And someone said, "Speediance, I'm not going to buy a Speediance because they could go out of business." Not realizing the whole history of tonal and the fact that they almost went out of business after COVID. They literally ran out of money to where they fired everyone and almost shuttered the doors. They fired like I think it was it was an unbelievable amount of people inside the company got got axed, including the founder gone. You know, so we're not talking about a company and this company has I'm pretty sure a lot better backing in terms of finances than tonal does. So, they're they're not only making an argument that's silly in terms of like buying a device based on the backing, but they're also making the wrong argument for the wrong company with no prior knowledge. And unfortunately, I see that a lot online. Uh with this and with some uh with some stuff in the AI space that I'm working in now. Um some poor people were online and said that uh and that um AI was banning people for using their OAuth. And also that their $200 OAuth subscription has no limits. And I'm like, first of all, it has because they asked ChatGPT, right? So, realize these people are asking ChatGPT, it's getting it wrong, and then they're regurgitating it online because they think, oh, it's built by OpenAI, it'll get the question right. Which shows how much of an infancy AI is in. Right? People bash on Speediance's AI all the time. First of all, their AI is not even, I'm sure, backed by any of the latest and greatest models, you know? Like, it's not it's not backed by Opus, you know, 4.5. Like, I can guarantee you that's not what's running in the background on their on their AI system. It's some other It's probably like MiniMax or or Gemini K2, right, behind the scenes, which are just uh, not Opus, right? You know, they're just not the They're great models. Um, I'm not going to hate on them. They're phenomenal AI models, but for what they are, but they're not Opus. And um, and why that matters is people say the AI's not good enough. And I did some basic testing of it, and I decided not to uh, not to even bother subscribing because I think my review would be too critical because I tried to get it to build a workout in my cadence. Like, you can see the cadence of my workout. And in fact, I sent Arya the data from my workouts, and it told me exactly how these are all done, right? And now the future is I'm going to have it build out new workouts for me, uh, once I get back into lifting as a like a everyday thing. Right now, it's not. But once it's an everyday thing, I'm going to have Arya actually hand-build workouts for me with movements that it thinks I should be doing instead of movements I think I should be doing. I'm going to let Arya make those decisions in the future. Arya is my AI assistant that I've been building out. Um but actually the reason why I missed one week of So, I missed one week of live streams because I was I uh went to pick up a new Mac Studio to run XL and run and connect. I know this is kind of a nerdy thing, but connected across two machines. So, I have two machine two Mac Studios tethered together and they can talk to each other. Um which is really really cool. I don't know how practical it is, but it's awesome. I mean, let's just be clear. And that's one of the things where I agree with Alex Finn on this kind of AI and even on lifting. And even on jujitsu. So, I want to make it clear my stance on all of this stuff. You have to make it fun. And it What I mean by that is it doesn't have to be fun every day and it shouldn't be fun every session. But if you're having no fun in any of the Like this session is fun. Like there's nothing like I might just do the warm-ups and not do the rest of the session. But you know what? This is my favorite thing to do. Like just straight-up arm workouts. There's nothing like I'm not working my back. I'm not working. I'm literally just doing arms. You know, and it it's Is it the most efficacious? Is it the area where I need the most work? Absolutely not. But you know what it is? It's fun. And and I treat jujitsu the same way. You have to make What I didn't realize earlier on is I would try to go to the gym uh in in my 20s and I failed over and over again. I'd try to go to the gym. I'd try to run outside and I'd try to progressively overload constantly because that's the way my mind works. Success is driven through progressive overload. Like that is a fact. It's not a it's not a myth, it's not a fallacy. But what I didn't realize is if I don't make this stuff fun and I don't mix in a whole bunch of entertainment value to me, um it's not going to you know, it's not going to stick as a long-term thing. So when I was training for all these races, you know, everyone would really question my training modality because I was not training with um with like the runners that were the same speed as me. Right? So when we would go out and do races, um you know, the runner that I trained with day-to-day would not run the same and we're running this weekend and we're going to be walking together because woo did I get deconditioned with a couple vacations and I uh last time I did a live stream, I was actually I had a pretty bad flu and it got worse. So um so I was off jujitsu, I was off running, I was off everything and I think I'm going to have to walk it with with a buddy of mine and instead of running all out like I wanted to and I just chalk it up to maybe I'll do another run later this year at full intensity. But for now, we're going to end up walking with a buddy of mine that I have I don't get to talk to very often. It's a huge opportunity for me. Like instead of thinking of it as a massive failure that I didn't get what to where I wanted to be and I go to the doctors next week cuz I have to figure this out because I still have I I took a massive full disclosure, I took a a huge dose of amoxicillin from the doctor to try to clear it. It's still not cleared. It's still down. It's not in my nose anymore so you can hear me and I sound fine. Um but unfortunately, it's still my chest. And so I went back to jujitsu and I was literally wheezing and I look at the Whoop data and it none of it registered as high intensity. So, what does that mean? Like I'm I can't breathe. Uh and also I used to have a deviated septum that we fixed. So, I'm still not used to breathing through my nose. I was breathing through my mouth for years and years and years because turns out I've had that deviated septum for a long time. So, during all this off time I was getting my deviated septum fixed. I was dealing with the flu. I was getting new computers. I've been doing all kinds of stuff. It's It's been awesome though. Tons of different stuff. But yeah, always make it fun. You know, jiu-jitsu to me I go in and especially in the morning I goof off. So, I was wearing my singlets. I have singlets. And you know, cuz it's it's nogi and to me So, for last nogi we did a month of nogi and I decided I would bust out a new singlet once per week. And uh So, now I have all those singlets. So, everyone wants the singlets back until I actually start wearing them and then they wish I did not bring the singlets back. So, everyone asks for the singlets and then I start wearing them and they realize they are inappropriately tight. But that is what it is. Yeah, so what this is doing right now is it's going through different hand positions on pretty much the same movement. Uh and that's about how I structured this thing. So, it's just a bunch of different arm movements, but it's hitting different points like that this is going to hit you know, the other side. So, that was a straight bicep. This is going to hit, you know, actually in the back of the arms. Not really that the tricep where you normally hit. It's like a different It feels very different. Um and I'm not uh you know, I don't have an anatomy background at all. So, anatomy is not you know, unless it's snapping something on someone. That's about as much anatomy as I know. It's how to break stuff. But yeah, getting back to the Voltras, they are a phenomenal device. Now, I would wait for the Speediance Minis to come out. Um I'm going to get on my computer real quick after this and just look to see if there's an ETA on the Speediance Minis. And I'll tell you why I'd wait for them. I wouldn't wait for them for the reason you might think. Like, I wouldn't wait for them to get to buy the Speediance over that. Uh I'm coming over here and just checking to see if they've announced a date yet. The Speediance Is that not the name of it? The Speediance. Uh Speediance Gym Nano. Sorry. I believe Is that what they call it? So, Speediance Gym release date. Yeah, it's the Speediance Gym Nano. And it does not have an official release date. Uh somewhere Okay, so we just don't know. Okay, so the Speediance Gym Nano, you know, the the name of it always escapes me, but that Speediance Gym Nano does not have a release date yet. So, unfortunately, we just don't know when it's going to come out. And the reason why I would have waited for them, have we had we known a release date, is because the price of the Voltras is going to come down when those come out, is my prediction. But, I think they're going to push the Voltra to either build a Gen 2 or come down in price. And we might see a Gen 2 of the Voltra, too. And they are slick devices. What they do is you see how I have this rack behind there? The Voltra clips onto the rack and has a battery and then pulls from the rack. Now, that requires you to mount racks to every surface that you want. But I I'm kind of nuts. And so there would be a rack mounted to every wall of well, not every wall of every room, but there'd be three specific walls that I had outlined that would have racks on them. So, there's three walls that would have racks. I'd have two Voltras, and I'd literally be able to walk them between rooms and watch my kids and lift at the same time. So, I have that now. Which is funny. I I kind of have that system now, but it's more different things in different rooms. So, there's two different Speediances. So, that in the two main rooms I can lift using them. And then I have the adjustable dumbbells. And I have uh racks in other places. But it's like a hodgepodge, right? And I wanted something where I can track all of it and track it all together. But it looked like their software was just not far enough along for me to do the kind of detailed tracking that I wanted to do. And so, this especially, I'm really thankful now because I can pipe all of this information into Arya and get detailed progression overload and show how am I doing? Am I gaining strength? Am I, you know, where am I at with with all of my workouts combined? So, I now have the ability to track it all. And I think I'd be able to do that with a Voltra at this point in time. It's just I I I was hesitant to make that the plunge, and I figured and you got to remember whenever I bought I didn't buy this 2S to begin with. I bought the original Speediance because I was unsure. And the original Speediance is the price of one Voltra. So, like not including the rack, not including that the original Speediance is the price of one Vaultr. And I got that device and loved it so much that I ended up buying this one. That's how I ended up with this device. I did not end up with this device because I originally purchased it. I don't think I would have ever justified the price of buying a Tonal-like device off the get-go. You know, a Tonal-priced device. This thing's about the same price as a Tonal. And I already have a Tonal. You know, I have a Tonal that's By the way, it's still sitting in the hallway. So, I feel like I should sell the thing cuz I'm never going to I feel like I'm never going to get it fixed just because uh I don't have a lot of time. Nor am I going to take the time, but I do need to go over to my buddies and fix that thing. Someday I just don't know. You know, it's not broken. It can still be used, so I could also sell it. And I was hesitant to sell it before, but if you just tell them it's got a cable that's going to be about to snap. It's got a cable that's going to snap on you. You know, I lifted a million pounds with the cable frayed the way it is, but just realize like it's on you if it snaps on you and here's the replacement cable. I have the replacement, but I did not put it together because it is a nightmare. So, maybe if I just disclose it, I can I don't know. Maybe I sell the thing just to get it out of my hallway. So, that's kind of one of those decision processes that I'm still thinking about. But, I think the Vaultr is a phenomenal device. Now, looking at that online and seeing that the the the Gym Monster Nanos have no release date, but I saw I watched the the video of them at uh at CES and they're pretty far along. I mean, they look I mean, maybe it could be smoke and mirrors, but they look ready to go off the assembly line now. Uh now, their Whoop competitor, the other thing they're building, that thing looks like it's not even close. You know, that thing looks like it's not nowhere near um the device that my wife has. You know, that is shipping right now and I forget the name of it, but she also has a Whoop competitor that's a pretty good little device. Um and I would argue that, you know, if money's an object, you should be buying that. And uh the Amazfit. So, the Amazfit Helio is the name of it. Took me a second to come up with the name, but yeah, she has the Amazfit Helio. I still wear the Whoop. I'll be wearing it for another year. Uh and we'll see from there whether I go over to Amazfit or Garmin's I'm sure going to come out with a competitor cuz they just built a sleep band. So, all of these guys are going to have competitors. The beauty of it is now I own my data. So, my data's all exported from all these systems and Arya has it all. So, I'm not locked into any of them. You know, I'm not even locked into Speediance. In fact, Arya now has all my Tonal data. So, it gives me a combined dashboard of all the lifts from Tonal and from Speediance. So, I have it all. The only thing I don't have is I only have some of my lifts from the spreadsheets. So, I did I went back to spreadsheets and I only have some of that spreadsheet data from the like cuz I didn't capture all of them in spreadsheets cuz I got too lazy at some point in time. So, there's some lifts missing from the in between, but not very many. Uh not enough to even care, right? So, yeah, that's that's kind of my conclusion on these. Like I did want to go over that and that's a long It's a long rant for that stuff. Um but you know, my personal opinion uh on these devices, right? If you're looking at them, the Viper cable tower, there's a million of those things. Like I'm not going to go through and review every not digital analog uh based, you know, track and and even if they have some tracking components, cuz I saw another one at like I said at the Arnold, you know, there's going to be a million of those, but they're not real they're not real digital cable machines. They are resistance machines with a somewhat digital component for counting the reps. Those don't count. I want something that has eccentric, that has uh you know, that has that has the different modalities, right? That you can actually go in and like if I click on the screen, I have the ability to go in between standard chains, eccentric, and fixed speed, right? I have all of those capabilities. I want something that has those. So, I I kind of eliminate that one altogether. The AUKI S1 uh the Fit Transformer Titan, the Vaultra, especially the Vaultra, I think they all have use cases. The AUKI S1 Pro, I'm hesitant on all of their devices because they just don't seem best of breed. Like if you're going to buy the S1 Pro, buy the Tonal, too. I- if you can afford, but that then they don't have a membership. People are really excited about the no membership, and that was part of the reason for buying the Speediance, right? Is it not have a membership? And by the way, people say now the Speediance has a membership. It doesn't have a membership, and they've they've really dialed back on the uh they've decided that they're not going to put the ads for the membership now on or at least it looks like with the V3 software on the devices pop-ups anymore because they got a huge That's the one thing they listened to the If If there's a lot of feedback from the community, um like I noticed the V3.2 software that I don't have yet, one of the things they mentioned is a fully overhauled um freelift mode. So, people complained that because they made the mistake of saying that uh um duo load was the you know, was analogous to the original you know, free lift um mode where you could lift with two people. It just wasn't, right? Uh the way they phrased it is they brought back the original thing in the in the in the notes. And it's like I I know you did something that wasn't and then people really didn't like the new UX. So, uh we'll see what they did with free lift mode in 3.2, but I can tell you they at least they're at least attempting to fix things, right? And move forward. Uh which is more than I could say for Tonal. You know, at Tonal if you brought up a bug to them, the bug doesn't exist. Like it it's not a it's not a real thing. In fact, you can't post People don't realize there were some people who'd comment on Speediance and they'd go in the Speediance uh Facebook member Facebook site and say, "Man, I see all these people with bugs and issues. And you go on Tonal and you don't see any of that, so I should buy a Tonal." It's like, "No." Tonal blocks any comment that not even any comment that's negative. Any comment asking a question that could make the device seem inferior to any competitor or could shed a negative light on the machine, they don't allow. Any support questions, they don't allow it. You know, they just And the worst is they don't answer your support question. By the way. They just block your comment. Cuz I had a support question and I posted it, they just blocked my comment and they didn't answer it. And then I sent another one of, "Hey, you're lying on your website. You say that you have 140 or some odd moves when you don't have the membership, you have no moves." You know, and they just ignored my you know, like, "Hey, you're straight up lying on your website. You know, you shouldn't be doing that." Um they just ignored it, you know, they don't even attempt to respond and it's like that's rude, you know, like I I'm I was paying you, you know, I paid you over the course of 4 years, I paid you almost I think $7,000 is what I calculated. I paid you $7,000 and you can't even answer questions. Like I just think it's uh unbelievable that that company would be that anti-consumer and then people would go to back for them and say they're great when they up their membership and stuff like that. Like I I saw all these posts about how amazing they are for upping the membership so that they could stay in business and it's like you guys kind of deserve to fail. You built out new studios, you waste a ton of money on live programming that made no sense. You didn't even build a second version of They didn't build a second version of the app or of the device until the Speediance Gen 2 came out. Like they were the first to market and then they took so long to build a second gen device. Had they built that second gen device instead of rolling out all this live crap content, I'd have bought the second device. They'd have gotten 15 grand off of me at least in subscriptions and device purchases cuz I'm also one of those people that guess what? When I buy device two, I'm not shipping you device one or selling device one, I'm keeping them both, you know. So, I would have had two in two different rooms in my old house. And um you know, especially to to get heavier weights, right? So, if they had launched the Tonal 2 3 years prior, I'd have just bought it, you know, or two year two I think it would have been 2 years prior whenever they were almost going to go out of business. But if they had launched it then, I would have bought the thing. And it's like instead of buying another device from you guys and making you all this kind of money, you lost me as a customer because of how crappy you are, you know. Uh to be honest with you, uh the device the Tonal device is phenomenal. Like if this user like that user that was that was overweight and was trying to lose weight and wanted a beginner-friendly device, both of those answers are wrong. Like if you want a beginner-friendly cable digital cable machine, especially, let me be clear, if you are a female and want a female trainer, like you see right now I don't have a female trainer on my screen for some reason it did switch trainers on me. See if it goes back to the female. Uh, I'll do this lift and then we'll see we'll see who it who it goes to. But, you know, if you want that, then your choice is the tonal. Like your that that is the choice. If you want beginner-friendly plus female, you know, uh, that's you know, I don't even think there's I don't think think there's even debate on it, you know. Think I have the things in the wrong position. Oh, that is L5. Won't down one. So, this is one of the things where you want to talk about beginner-friendly, the tonal would have told me the the arms are in the wrong position, right? Because it's tracking all of that. And by the way, they could put sensors in these and that would allow that. Like I'm hoping that comes with the Speediance Gen 3 where they have sensors in there. Um, just to be able to track that, you know. But yeah, the the in terms of beginner especially cuz you start out with this machine and it's overwhelming, right? So, the the the manuals that come with it are terrible, right? And I'm not a big manual person to begin with, so who cares if they're terrible. But then when when you boot up the machine, it doesn't boot you into like a beginner-friendly tutorial of which things to do and what thing to do first. It just kind of drops you on the screen. You know, it's not usually with an update, too, right? You know, it drops you on a screen and asks you to update usually. So, what I wanted to get out and why I wanted it to switch to the next uh switch to the next exercise is because this this will have the female trainer on it. Realize she's not speaking English, she's speaking Spanish. Right? So, if you're Hispanic and you want a female trainer, you've got one. But, it there is no English-speaking female trainer for all of these lifts, right? So, she's speaking Spanish right now. If you if I turn it off, so it doesn't matter. And I like the way she I like her form on a lot of the exercises. So, that's why I picked her for these for these newer things that I do. I'm partial to like just the And also, you can see even though she has the weights lighter, you can actually see muscle engagement a little bit. So, she's at has it at 7 lb. Whereas, if you have the male trainer, you can't see any muscle engagement. Uh which I think is actually a huge downside. They should crank the weights up on them a little bit. Like, I'm not saying crank it up to what he can do maximally, but it it shouldn't be that easy that we don't see the muscle engagement at all when he's lifting. You know, you could see a little bit of muscle like you can pick out where her muscles are engaging. And that's the other thing. Is a beginner going to think to do that, right? Uh no, you know, I went to a personal trainer for years. Uh and they were yelling at me because the wrong muscles were being engaged. So, now that's something I pay attention to when I look at these workouts. Uh you know, a beginner user should You know, and you can use this device as a beginner lifter. I'm not saying you can't. If you're nerdy enough, if If passionate enough to watch videos, if you're, you know, if you're willing to take a little bit more time and invest time. But, this is someone who literally didn't even use like didn't even know the fact that the Anki had a lower weight than the 2S. You know what I mean? Like, this isn't a user who did a ton of research. He just decided to like, I see this a lot with like people online in general. They'll spit questions that you could ask uh chat GPT, right? Like, they'll spit a question that Arya could give you a better answer, a more detailed answer to, right? Like, my AI, like any of these AI, which is powered by uh right now it's Sonnet 4.6, but like Opus or Sonnet or chat GPT 5.4, you know what I mean? Those models uh can give you better answers than most people online. But, my favorite is whenever people use those models to answer the question, and then they're wrong. Heh. You know what I mean? Because and and that's not necessarily fully their fault, but they're regurgitating wrong information, which is always funny to me. Like, these my What I'm saying here didn't come from AI, it came from me reading the the website and trying to make a decision on is this worth my time to even look at? And the answer that uh the Fit Transformer was worth looking at only in that I'm rolling it out because I don't want something with a battery. I don't want something that goes in and out of the house. Like, that'll never be an option for me, right? I want something that plugs in and stays in the house. Um or something like the Voltra that I can plug into a rack and then pull from the rack. So, I I think the Voltras are an awesome idea. I think the the reason why the Gym Monster Nano is coming out is because it is a phenomenal idea, and it's something that they can't do other than to just straight-up clone it. Like, there's no option to build something like that other than building something like that. It's such a cool idea. So, I'm I'm a big proponent of the Vault R's. I'd love to get to play with them in person. You know, I've watched so many videos. I watched more videos on the Vault R's than I did on the Speediance at the time because I wanted to see how detailed is the tracking, how well does the tracking work and at the time it was like, "Ooh, it really it really doesn't work well. It really doesn't have a progressive overload system. It really doesn't Like, I'm going to have to recreate all this stuff that the the whole reason to you know, buy the Speediance was to not have to think about that stuff and now I have to think about it all again." And it with this, I use the progressive overload system. You know, I I am using their system. I'm not I'm not doing anything special, right? Those warm-up sets, hopefully usually don't trigger the Every now and then they will accidentally uh trigger the PRs either down or up because I'll accidentally bump the uh the the the ring has a has a dial that I'll accidentally bump one way or the other. I don't get too bent out of shape if it moves the weight 1 lb either direction. Um but, you know, every now and then I'll hit a PR, especially it frustrates me whenever I hit PRs on the warm-up sets because then it's all off because that's not really how strong I am. That's a warm-up set. They should just be excluded from PR calculations or um or you'd have to hit So, if I'm at 20 RM and I'm doing 13, I'd have to hit 21 reps for it to give me a PR. It is the way that calculation should work. They're just straight-up doing the math wrong. Like, the math is wrong. Like, if if I hit 14 uh reps um or like if I adjust Not if I hit 14 reps, but if I adjust the the weight up by 3 lb it'll tell me I have a new PR on on one of my warm-up sets. Like it'll recalculate it as if I had done a heavy set when I'm not doing a heavy set. It's It's not Something's wrong with their algorithm behind the scenes, I've noticed. Where if you bump the weights yourself on a warm-up set, it'll recalculate the PR values and it shouldn't. Uh and I also really don't like that it recalculates them down, also, because it's like this is a warm-up set. I don't I don't want this. I I do wish there was a way to like turn off uh the PR calculation for warm-up sets, but I don't ever want it turned off for these sets. So, this I'm pretty sure I'm into the working sets now. And I don't ever want it to actually turn off for these. So, that was one of the big things that I I didn't want to happen. So, this uh 13 Yeah, so this is 15 13. So, this is one of the actual working sets. And I'll stop the workout here, but this is the first of my working sets. Um and that one I would always want to affect my PR even if it's going down because I want those lower weights until I can do the full weight again, which is probably going to happen here soon with my workouts, uh if I don't bring the intensity back up to where it used to be. But that's kind of my conclusion on all of these devices. My conclusion on what she people should do. I think the personal trainer's a great option. I think this can be a great option for a beginner, but you got to be a tech-savvy beginner. You know, if if you don't know anything about working out, you want a like really guided experience with a coach that's like that feels like your coach that isn't an assistant, then the Tonal is is the device. Um if you want if you want kind of a cool piece of tech with a bunch of uh with a bunch of advanced features, but there's one cool thing you can do with it, This is a great device. The Voltra's are of course a great You have to be super nerdy and super hardcore for the Voltra's. Like I don't think that's a casual gym goer ever should be buying the Voltra's. But realize they're cool, you know, like they are definitively uh like cool. So, you know, whenever it comes to these devices there're going to be new ones coming out all the time. I'm going to be looking at them. Right now, nothing in my opinion would I would buy over this device, over this Speediance Gym Gym Monster 2S of all these devices, right? For me. But I I see use cases for especially for the Voltra's. Like there's so many use cases. There's a a small use case for the Fit Transformer Pro. There's an even narrower use use case for that Anker S S1 Pro, like a very narrow one. Uh where you're really trying to stretch out your back and stuff like that. You're working on back extension work. Uh but that's so narrow and it doesn't have enough weight to do it anyways. Um you know, I'd just buy a Tonal, too. If you're going to buy that thing, like just sink the money into a Tonal, too, and have it bolted to your wall. I'd be worried about something that has those arms and has this platform and you have to stand on it. Just buy something that's bolted to your wall. Anyways, that's my conclusion. Thank you for watching Toby on Fitness Tech. Uh like and subscribe. I really appreciate it. All the questions. So, that helps out a lot for to know what people want to hear.
