Extreme Weight Loss: The Honest Truth About My Transformation

I went from 242 lbs to 188 lbs in six months. Here's exactly what it took - including the medications, the calories, and the 20,000 steps per day.

I went from 242 lbs to 188 lbs in roughly six months in 2023. That's the physique I have today. I wanted to be transparent about exactly how I made that transformation happen - because if you're aiming for similar results, you deserve to know what it actually took.

The Backstory

I was a morbidly obese kid. Very fat through elementary and high school until my senior year. Here's what most people don't know: I've never transformed my physique naturally.

  • In high school, I used a prescription drug called Fentramine (it was over-the-counter at the time)
  • Every weight loss journey I've ever done was with pharmaceutical help
  • I get tremendous hunger signaling - I never feel full and have an insatiable appetite
  • The more I work out, the hungrier I become

The Turning Point

By June 2023, I was 242 lbs. I tried running and failed all year - I'd go out running, get sick, eat more than I burned, and gain weight.

In July, I only lost 5 pounds total. I needed a different approach.

The Protocol

I got with a new doctor in August 2023 and implemented a complete protocol. Here's exactly what I used:

Medications (All Prescribed)

  1. TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy)

    • Changed from suboptimal protocol to subQ injections 3x/week
    • This created stable blood serum levels
    • Important note: you CAN get fat on TRT if your protocol is suboptimal
  2. GLP-1 (Tirzepatide)

    • I specifically requested Tirzepatide over Semaglutide due to lower instances of gastric issues
    • Slightly more expensive, but worked well for me
    • This was the game-changer for hunger management
  3. Anavar (Oral Anabolic)

    • This is where it gets controversial
    • Added specifically to preserve muscle during aggressive weight loss
    • Without this, I would have shredded muscle losing weight that quickly
  4. Cialis (ED Medication)

    • Normally for erectile dysfunction, but prescribed for increased pumps in the gym
    • It's a vasodilator
    • One of the most impactful additions - highest safety profile, used by millions
  5. Element Packets

    • One per day for hydration
    • Curbed "fake hunger" from dehydration

Note: All of this was done through doctors. I'm not a doctor. This is not medical advice. I'm simply being transparent about what I did.

The Numbers

Weight Loss Progress

  • August 4th: 230 lbs
  • September 7th: 220 lbs
  • October: 213 lbs
  • November: 202 lbs
  • December: 200 lbs

Daily Activity

  • Minimum steps: 10,000 per day
  • Actual steps on insomnia nights: Up to 20,000
  • I have insomnia issues when calories drop low
  • Instead of scrolling YouTube, I walked on a treadmill in my basement

Calories

  • 6 days a week: 800-1,200 calories
  • 1 cheat day per week: Unlimited calories (minimum 7 days between cheat days)
  • Everything was meticulously tracked

Lifting

  • 30,000 to 50,000 pounds lifted almost every day
  • Volume was critical to preserve muscle

The Tradeoffs

This was not sustainable, and I'm not suggesting anyone replicate it:

  • Minimal time with family that winter
  • Kids weren't in activities and it was a freezing cold winter
  • It was a calculated sacrifice to achieve the goal in one winter
  • I wanted to be done by my birthday in March to enjoy summer with my kids

Maintenance Today

  • Now I lift roughly 10,000 pounds per day to maintain
  • Occasionally do 40,000 lb days
  • Take weekends off
  • Can now run with my kids, chase them around - the goal was functionality

The Honest Take

  • I couldn't have done this without a GLP-1
  • Compared to Fentramine: Fentramine was equally appetite-suppressing and a quarter the cost
  • GLP-1: Just get hungry when coming off
  • Fentramine: Withdrawal headaches similar to caffeine
  • TRT is for life for me - my levels go to zero without it

What I'd Tell Someone Considering This

  1. Question whether you should attempt it
  2. Research all the medication risks
  3. Find a good doctor who will run you through the full protocol
  4. Understand the risks involved
  5. Consider whether a slower approach over a year might be better

I wanted to be transparent because a lot of influencers aren't. I've seen people claim natural transformations while on pharmaceuticals. The Liver King situation made it clear how important disclosure is.

This worked for me. It allowed me to maintain the physique and live the active life I wanted with my kids. But it's not the only way, and it's not without tradeoffs.

If you have questions about the protocol, I'm happy to answer in the comments.
