Whoop 5.0 Garments Failed Grapplers
Whoop sent out a survey about garments, so I wanted to put my full argument on video: the Whoop 4.0 underwear was one of the best wearable placements I have used for jiu-jitsu, and the Whoop 5.0 puck design made that whole setup worse. I compare the 4.0 and 5.0 underwear, show the puck placement problem, explain why it matters when you are actually landing and rolling on the mat, and walk through the spacer trick I use to keep the new Whoop working in old 4.0 garments. Then I get into bicep straps, chest straps, manual workout entry, whether anyone should buy Whoop right now, and why Fitbit, Amazfit, Polar, and Garmin are making this category much harder for Whoop. The back half turns into a broader wearable-tech discussion: heart-rate tracking accuracy, recovery scores, gamification, Garmin daily suggested workouts, and how I am using Aria with Whoop, Garmin, Eight Sleep, and Speediance data to keep training from turning into overtraining. Not medical, financial, or training advice. This is personal experience and commentary based on the devices and garments I have used.
