These thoughts are helpful as I try to setup a good training program on my new gym monster. Cardiovascular conditioning from weight training is superior to running for one key difference, weight training puts more load on your system and has a wider range of blood pressure you operate through. This creates stronger veins that can handle pressure spikes better. Running specifically creates cortisol in humans, swap running for mountain hikes, bicycle or swimming for better heart health.
